The magazine is dedicated to the international awareness, development and nourishment of independent arts, culture and literature. In the fall of 2011 Zouch will be launching in print.

I write a blog that does pretty well. So I published the content into paperbacks.

You can buy the books through Amazon for a low price. I did not publish them to make profit. The words were already on my blog. I plan to publish one every year until the blogging world implodes.

In 2011 I made some contemporary art based on some of my published poetry.

I'm not really sure why I did it. I never wanted to be a visual artist. I guess I thought of it as a way to get my words in front of more people, new people. In late 2011 I will be showing the art at gallerywest in Toronto.

A Little About Me

I cried a lot as a baby. I was an ugly kid. I am less ugly now. I hated school. After high school I became a professional chef. I was good at it, too. I worked at some of the fanciest, coolest spots in town. That lasted eight years. Then I got into cooking shows because the hours were better. Then I got into lifestyle television. Once I got comfortable with cameras and grew tired of career cooking, I made a documentary with my brother about our family in Ireland called ‘Roots of a Man’. It was a small movie but the response was good. Then we made a feature length indie art-house western film starring our friends called ‘Six Reasons Why’. That movie did really well and sold to Hollywood. Then I started to write screenplays. I wrote a few and made some money. During that time I also directed some chart-topping music videos. Then I co-founded The Mississauga Independent Film Festival Group.

That is when I started to read classic literature. Then I started to write poetry and fiction. I started a blog called ‘A Writer Under The Influence’ and it won some awards. I started publishing yearly compilation paperbacks based on the blog. Then I co-founded Zouch Magazine & Miscellany. After that, I moved to Panama temporarily to write my first novel. Then I started to write for magazines. Oh yeah, I made some art, too.

I rarely shave. I ride a cheap motorbike. I still write screenplays. I also like to make web sites.
